Dear Sisters,
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this community..I also, would like to share my testimony with all of you.
I was raised until 7 years of age by both parents, my Mom died in 1967 as a result of ovarian cancer, my father had been extremely abusive to her and me and I feel there was a lot of rage inside of him that never was dealt with, this escalated as time progressed. He did remarry 2 years later, and prior to that, we lived with my Gram, she was probably the most influential woman who ever graced my life, her father was a Baptist minister and she was raised to love the Word, I have so many fond memories of Gram comforting us when we found out about Mom's cancer, she never for one moment's time gave up that He would bring healing to her, at night, she would read to us from her Bible, (there were 3 of us at this time, my sister and brother and myself) she taught us that any answer is found right in these pages, just open the Book and put your finger down and your answer is there..My faith and curiosity of the Lord was developing then, as neither parent spoke to us about the Lord that I can recall.
We attended church after Dad remarried hit and miss, the bus would pick us up so our parents would have some "free time" away from the family, there were 6 now, and it felt like a punishment rather than a blessing to attend church. That was short lived.
I did not come to know the Lord fully until I was in my early 20's...very far removed from Him, living and working 2 jobs, until one day, a long time friend of mine telephoned and asked me to attend a revival at her Baptist church, I went and was saved..from that point on my life changed, I was forever His child and had my salvation secured, I am always grateful to her for that simple act of kindness and love she showed by calling.
Now, I am a Mom with 3 children here and one in heaven, I am married to a wonderful Christian husband, and I just feel that at 46 I am learning more and more about the Lord daily, in everything I do and every word I speak, I will admit that I can use some more tolerance and patience at times with people...
My husband and I attend an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist church, it's been around over 50 years and solid teaching, the members are great, friendly, kind, supportive and most of all welcoming. We soon will apply for membership and I am glad He found this church for us...
God bless and thank you for reading my testimony..

Sister Penny
