Hello! I just got approved as a member (Thank you Sister Michelle and Brother Brown)
It has been a glorious sunny day in Ohio and my two little girls have played in the sand for the majority of the afternoon as I began to clear the garden for planting. A seemingly daunting task.
I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself, I posted in the Guest forum, but I'll repeat what I said there.
I'm a SAHM with twin 3 yr old girls. My husband is a network administrator for a car dealership and we live on a 1 acreish farm/homestead type thing. We have cats and chickens and two brand new baby ducks.
I'm so excited to get to know all of you. I'm unfortunately coming from a board that left a bad taste in my mouth for forums, but I hope that the experience there won't taint anything here. I'll try to leave my past in the past and start fresh.
Blessings to you all!

I am so glad you've decided to give us a try. My personal experiences here at Keeper Sisters have been very positive. All the ladies have been encouraging in the area of being keepers of our homes & biblical submission to our husbands, edifying the Lord, and full of terrific ideas and suggestions on how to make and keep our homes running more smooth.
I look forward to seeing you around ... tb

So far, this spring has been apple canning. Apples were on sale, extremely cheap this week so I bought 40 lbs of apples. Granny Smiths and Fugi's. I have 8 pints of Granny Smith applesauce right now, there are Fugi's and Cinnamon on the stove right now for Cinnamon Applesauce and the other couple of pounds will be turned into Apple Pie Filling I think.
I've done peaches, jam and now apples. I've never done veggies but I think that's what this year holds in store. I desperately want to do pickles this year. My mother used to make Watermelon Pickles every year. I've personally never tried it.
What do you like to can???

Welcome to both twobabiesforme and braidedrug. I have found this board to be a blessing. I am one that needs the truth to keep me on track and I find that here.

Thank you mountaingirl. We have jam melons ready to do something with. I think you call them citron melons. We made plum sauce last year (it is autumn now) in the past (long time ago) always did tomatoes, peaches, bread & butter pickles made with zucchini. We made our melons into chutney, jam & pickles. Love green tomato pickles, made that fairly recently. We picked apples the other day from the roadside, about 5lb I think. We don't really have applesauce in Australia though my Nana did can something like that, she is not here to ask what she called it. I will post pic of the tree with parrot in it.
