Dear Sisters, We have been fighting some viruses here. My two littlest ones developed ear infections. I made up a med for the ears and it has helped so much. You take two or three garlic cloves and crush them. Put osme olive oil to cover heat it up, do not cook the garlic, let it set for an hour our two. then before bed put a couple of drops into their ears. It has helped so much. Know if only I could kick the cold that I have.

Eat a clove of fresh garlic, minced (I use the dried minced kind) twice daily, for colds. It cuts my colds in a third of the time! (Cooking it takes out much of the antibioic properties.)

Ok, I know this is going to sound very strange, BUT, when I was a child and then when I became a mother, this is what we did for coughs. Get a LARGE spanish onion, A large Water glass, and a deep cereal bowl, and clean glass jar. Slice the spanish onion and put into the water glass, pour two tbsp white sugar over the onion and stir in up. then place the cereal bowl over the top of the glass, and tip the glass upside down( in the cereal bowl) and place bowl somewhere warm, in the oven back of the stove, etc, in a few hours, you will see a clear liquid has leached out, drain it off and put into the glass jar, you may have to do this three or four times before it stops leaching. the liquid is a WONDERFUL cough syrup, expectorant type. And no, it doesn't taste like onion. It works, breaks up a cough quickly. I always have spanish onions around and still use this mixture to this day, if I should come down with a dry cough. It still works as well as it did years ago.
