I have some holly hocks and I did not do anything to them before winter came. Will they come back this fall our did I kill them. I am new to having flowers. I have roses and mums here also and do not know how to care for any of them.

Michelle, I will ask about the hollyhocks..the mums should come back..one word of advise is to mulch all around your trees and plants before the cold sets in and fertilize them well during the spring and summer months..
God bless, Penny

Hollyhocks tend to be biennial in central Ohio, I always have some and have never had to replant. I just love them, they originally grew in the middle east and were brought to Europe by the crusaders, I have read. If you just sprinkle the seeds around after they dry on the stalk you should always have some. I have heard people say they had a harder time with the double petalled type. Dede

Love HollyHocks.. if you prune the main stalks early on they will bunch out instead of getting a couple of tall spikes. (shorter ones, but lovely just the same)
