[glow=pink,2,300]John 15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.[/glow]
Something in these verses really spoke to me yesterday. Something that the preacher was not even speaking on. The first part says, my joy might remain. The next part is that your joy might be full. The only way I am going to be full of joy is by having the joy the Lord gives. I think the joy of the Lord is found in doing His commandments. Later in the same passage he talks of doing what he asks. If we are made by God wouldn't God know what it takes to give us joy? He has given us all of the guidelines to live by in His word The Holy Bible. We can only find real joy and contentment by following that. It is what brings a joy that NOTHING can take away. No matter how the storms of life rage around us nothing can touch that joy. If we are resting safe in the arms of our Lord. Following him is where the joy that lasts comes from. He also says that the Joy of the Lord is our strength. As we follow him he will give us the strength to continue following him and it will keep cycling. Keep on. Keep our eyes on the Lord. Trust in Him, He knows our end and he wants to give us a joy that will last as we walk along with him.
