(Since I am still "pending" I can't reply in the thread but wanted to share.)
I had been having severe problems with my son, and finally went to my family doc for help. My Dr. was kind enough to sit and read a bible story to him and explain how God don't like it when boys are naughty, and that he better straighten up. I think hearing that from her "hit home" ...if the smart Doctor knew that God was watching he was really in for it!
My little one does have a heart condition, so we had to be very cautious. I really don't think drugs are the answer, and that in 90% of the cases good parenting solves the issue, but in the other percentage, sometime treatment may be helpful. We put him on Strattera (sp?) for a few months as it is more heart friendly. In the end, it didn't do tons, but it did help to get his focus on track so I could retrain on some issues. We took him off after a few months - we didn't want it to be a permanent part of his life, just a little help so mama didn't pull her hair out. (had I been able to be more focused on him earlier in his life, maybe I wouldn't have needed that help - but the past is for me to learn from, not beat myself up over.)
More than anything, I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful Christian woman to treat my family.

I have found that the Word of God works in every situation. In Galatians 6:22-24 The Fruits of the Spirit is one of my favorite lesson to teach my boys, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law." Look up the meaning of those words in the Strongs concordanance and it is a great Bible study with litte ones. I'm glad that you have found a good Christian doctor, that's a wonderful asset.
Looking forward to your getting approved and talking more. God Bless You!
