I was in the Fall decorating mood. I got out what little decorations we had and set them out, but I still felt like I needed something else in the living room. Not wanting to spend any money on buying something I decided to shop at home. Wouldn't you just know it...I found a pretty fabric remnant that I had stored away. I also found 2 decorator pillow forms that I had bought last year on clearance. Woo Hoo! You know what that means...we're getting new sofa pillows! I did the pillows free hand & I am NOT a great seamstress at all so they are far from perfect, but hey...the results were what I was looking for and hubby remarked how nice a job I did. So that's good enough for me. I am so proud of my efforts. I think they turned out lovely if I do say so myself.

Thank you so much. Since posting this I changed out the throw on the back of the couch to one that I had on our bed, it's a copper color. So it goes really well with the fall colors.

oh those look so sweet, I am also getting ready for fall. I have my scarecrows out and Joann's just had a great sale so I got a sweet little picture for the wall, I also picked up some pumpkin salt and pepper shakers from walmart.
One very nice way to decorate is to put some mini pumpkins in a huricane jar looks very nice.

I was wondering, after reading the idea with the hurricane lanterns...how complicated would it be to make a slip for a regular lamp? We have some that are perfectly fine, but they're silver and kinda don't match what we'd like to do with the living room...can you make a lamp-body slipcover?lol

I'm sure one of our more experienced sewers can help with this. I don't have a clue.

I love those pillows!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have inspired me to get out my fall tote. I love getting it out each year. Autumn is my favorite season of the year. I love the nip in the night air, the smell of the leaves and they pile up on the ground. God was truly at his artistic best when he created fall colors. They are beautifully inspiring. Thanks for the kick start.. I always feel like I am rushing the fall decorating department. I'm glad someone else loves it too. God Bless, Dawn

In south Texas we don't have a lengthy Fall season so I decorate usually when school starts back. But now that school is going back closer to the end of august instead of mid August I have to wait longer to put things out. *grin* But hey I am ready as I'll ever be for that first good cool snap to start heading our way.

I understand. We were stationed at Fort Hood for 4 years. Being an Indiana girl I always felt a little denied while living there. The winters were great, but I even missed the S word after a few warm Christmas seasons. But it's September, LETS DECORATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like the pillows. My husband thinks I'm crazy, but I decorate for fall, Christmas, winter, and spring.
Those living room colours are great; you can change the whole look of the room with a few accessories, and it will still look fabulous with what is already there.

Thanks Jen, that was one of my main goals...neutrality. I love white and cream so this is the best of both worlds for me.
