Just wanted to say hello and see how everyone is enjoying the Summer thus far. Things have been hot and full here in our neck of the woods, but it's all good.
I have been canning up a storm. The garden is growing so well, in spite of the extremely HOT temps.
Hope all is well with each of you.

I'm glad to hear from you keeperofthehome.
What a blessing that God has provided a bountiful harvest for your family.
We have been very blessed this year. We have been trying to purchase a home for our family with some acreage; so far we are scheduled to close on a house on the 17th of July. We are praying that if it is God's will that we purchase this home that he remove all obstacles; but if it is not His will that we purchase this home that he shut the door completely.
Different viruses have been running through our house the last couple of weeks but I praise God that they happen now instead of when we are trying to move.
We were able to find 2 puppies at a shelter this last week and we are keeping them at a friend's house since we are not able to have pets where we live. The house that we are trying to purchase is on 10 acres so the puppies will have plenty of room to grow up.
We went through a short hot spell but other than that we seem to be pretty cool for this time of year; which I am not complaining about.
It's hard to watch the news some days, but I know that it is important. I find it quite hard breaking but yet the bible has told us that it was coming. I know with every passing day we are closer to Jesus calling us home.
It's heartbreaking watching more and more people losing their jobs and wondering how they are going to provide for their families. I know that God will provide all of their needs; it's easier to have struggling as a "theory" versus actually experiencing it.
On the brighter side, our garden seems to be doing quite well too.
I have been learning more and more about praising God for the blessings and the struggles this year.

Good afternoon. My check in headline is Hot, Humid, Steamy, Sticky weather. But it's all good.
I don't have a real garden but I have some plants on the balcony. I have this large geranium that had beautiful red flowers on it but they left and it has not bloomed again. When I can I will buy it some fertilizer. Maybe that will help.
My boss called and I have been given the opportunity to get some extra work hours due to one of my coworkers retiring. This is a wonderful blessing and I'm claiming it. Praise God for this respite. The thing is though, is that all the clients are converting to computerized information. This means my job is becoming obsolete. But I will stick in as long as I can. But I must be preparing. I don't know what to do since I cannot afford a class in anything and I don't have any experience in anything fresh and relevant.
Thursday I only worked three hours and I was dragging myself home in the heat and humidity. Soon after I got off the bus a neighbor lady "kidnapped" me and took me in her car to a couple interesting spots.
First was a nearby thrift shop where I found a nice pair of $9 shoes that are black closed toed sandals, therefore ok for work. They are much cooler than my regular heavy clodhoppers.
The second stop was one of the huge markets in the city. This one really is big, like Super Walmart sized big. But it is 100% Asian goods. And I mean serious, hardcore Asian food and housewares. I did not spend any money but I followed my friend around and can you believe the only familiar American thing I saw was beer. Everything else not only was foreign but no subtitles.
I've never seen such a sea of different frozen meatballs. Everything just went on and on forever! They had a large fish dept. and big tanks with sea monsters swimming around. The several bakeries had exotic pasteries made with exotic fruits but one thing struck me as looking so good. An almond roll cake. Whoa! I would love to have got that and had you all over for iced tea and almond cake today.
They also had a prepared meat area that really did feature smoked ducks hanging by their long necks with their heads attched as well as a smoked pig. Just like you see on tv. My friend kept calling it Chinese food but far as I could tell it was mostly the Thai, Vietnamese, and Loatian languages used there.
So,
Job somewhat better - check.
Pets ok - check.
Friends ok - check. I see that a dear neighbor lady who suffers from rhumatoid arthritius so much so that she is confined to a chair is back home much more. I visited her and she looked very nice. The electric chair enables her to get outside to fetch her mail, etc. She is more independent now.
House ok - check. Someone sent me a new shower massage to replace my worn out broken off one but I will have to wait for a tall person to reach up there to install it.
Bible reading - check. I know there are many good inspirational books out there but I am too hot and sticky now to start anything.
Everyone have a safe and happy Fourth of July.
