Hello Ladies,
I know I am new to the group and I normally don't "let people in" much but I feel you are all like minded and understand. We currently have 2 children a boy and a girl and we really want more. Our lifes dream is to have a big family. But when I tell people this or ask for prayer people act as if we are crazy. It really hurts our feelings. We know that this is God's call on our lives and feel strongly about it. We believe that children are blessings and not burdens. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE pray for us. It took us so long for us to conceive our little girl and we so badly want many more. Please pray and stand and believe with us that God will do this for us. He is a miracle worker and I am believing. Thanks
Your Sister, Mandy

Hello Mandy,
Your request has really touched my heart. I agree, children ARE a tremendous blessing and a GIFT from the Lord.
Our family has been blessed with only 5 children, ages 28b, 25b, 22b, 13g & 10b. I've always desired and would most certainly welcome many more. But I've also learned to trust that the Lord knows best regarding the size of our family, the gender and the age spacing of our children. Notice that 9 year gap? The consecutive 3 year gaps? Notice that only 1 out of 5 is a girl? (note: I do not practice birth control methods.)
I've been a mother for 28 years and although I've always wanted a large family (in my perspective large is 10 or more), I've also been mothering long enough to have acquired the hind-sight to see that God knew / knows EXACTLY what He is doing regarding the growth of our family (and every other area of our lives as well).
I will pray that you and your husband will be able to trust the Lord to grow your family according to His plans.
Blessings, tb

Mandy, I don't think it's crazy to want more children, and I will pray for you. I thought this month that I might be pregnant again, and was so disappointed when I found out I was just late. :(
I was married at age 27, and felt as though the best of my childbearing years were quickly slipping away. In consequence, we've had three children close together, and it's hard with so many so close, but I still want a few more. I just don't want to tell anyone that I want another baby so soon again, because people will think it's weird, even a lot of my church family. It seems like everyone is buying into the world's lie that children are a burden.

Jen, Thanks for your replyy and your prayers. I can only imagine what it is like with 3 very close in age. I have babysat children that were all stair step and I know it's not easy but a certain scripture came to my mind when I read your response And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. Galatians 6:9-10 This scripture often comes to my mind when I am feeling like I am not getting anywhere with my children, home, etc. I know the feeling about people in the church hurting feelings over this. I once had my previous pastors mother tell me that she wouldn't pray for us to have more children because my husband had spent a night in the hospital a couple moths before I am not joking. What he was hospitalized wasn't serious or a continuing thing. SO yeah when she told me that I excused myself to the bathroom and cried It HURT ME SO BAD. My husband is in great health by the way. It was a very low blow. But the church is made up of people and people are not perfect but My Father in Heaven is perfect and His word tells me to be fruitful and multiply ! Thank you Lord !!!!!!

Jen & Mandy,
My heart breaks to hear y'alls confessions of how insensitive fellow Christians, and I'm sure many others, have been towards you and your biblical desires to grow your family. I'd like to offer the following verses as encouragement to families who find themselves facing similar un-biblical attitudes.
Isaiah 44:3 - For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.
Psalms 127:3-5 - Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Psalms 128:3 - Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of the thine house; thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
Psalms 107:41 - Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
Job 21:11 - They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
Proverbs 17:6 - Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

It is so nice to be encouraged by another christian woman. I feel sometimes that I am so alone in this walk. Without a Titus 2 woman to guide me but you have made me feel like I am not alone. Where are the Titus 2 women ?? We need encouraging ! I know I do ! Thanks for being my friend !!!!
