Well, school is in it's 3rd week & so far so good...lol ! The Fall season will be a welcome relief when it does arrive! It's still in the 100s here...! Trying to get things under control & start thinking about the holidays....I try to buy ahead & we always pay as we go which helps! We're over the "toy" stage" & into clothes ,etc...& I'm finding buying is harder as tastes & sizes are so different! What's going on with you all?

This was the first week of school here, so I'm back to teaching piano lessons. It was rather busy here yesterday, ha ha. The heat has finally broken here and we're getting fall weather, which is SO wonderful! Looking forward to Thanksgiving in a few weeks. Probably my favourite family holiday because there's not too much extra stuff involved, just cooking a turkey.

Since we home school year-round, taking time off as needed, we really don't experience the whole "back to school" highs & lows.
Jalynn, I know what you mean about Christmas giving getting more difficult as the children get older. Our oldest 3 are now in their mid to late 20's and they are to that point where they have most of all they want and whenever they need something they just go out and purchase it themselves - makes gift giving challenging. Our two youngest (g-13, b-10) have never really been interested in toys, they usually want things like hunting / fishing supplies, horses and other farm animals, 4-wheelers, dirt bikes - not the typical toys/clothes stuff - LOL. Needless to say, in our home gift giving is often challenging.
Jen, Thanksgiving is also my favorite holiday. For our family the primary focus has always been on family & the blessings God has bestowed upon us throughout the year. All that gushy stuff makes it my most favorite.
