I am starting to sew my daughters skirts I do not like the styles and the length of what I have found in the stores. They seem to be really really short! I was wondering if one of our veteran sewers could help me out! What patterns are the easiest to start with and wear do I go or look for these. I do sew but -I have never made clothing so I need the simplest patterns Any help would be appreciated. Blessings all

Sometimes you can find Easy to Sew at Walmart or in the pattern books...I've used them for years and when the pattern gets worn out from use I make new ones from waxed paper or newspaper...! My mom made all my skirts and dresses...(when women & girls dressed like they should) and the best part was sometimes I got to pick out the fabric ! She always bought enough fabric to make her mom an apron...good luck on your adventure...!

My 12 yr.old daughter & I were talking about winter skirts as she'd rather wear them than jeans. She has some capris & jeans that still fit but the knees are worn badly so I'm going to use the tops of the pants and convert them into skirts. The directions are posted on Prairiehomaker....there's a couple of ways this can be done using scraps of fabric...that I have alot of....wish me guidence.....it's better than luck..!
