Hi Ladies,
After reading keeperofthehome's Christmas card blessing today, I thought I'd share an idea on how to reuse/recycle Christmas cards not only to save a tree but also to save money on postage.
Why not turn the Christmas cards you receive this year into Christmas post cards for next year? As long as the inside cover is not written on they work out great!
1. Cut the Christmas card in half along folded seam. 2. Turn the card to the "landscape" position. 3. Using a ruler and a black pen, draw a line down the center of the card on the blank side. 4. Stick a small return address lable in the upper right corner. (I usually get all sorts of these in the mail from non-profit organizations requesting donations beginning around Thanksgiving). 5. Write a quick hello and heartfelt greeting on the right side - just as you would a regular post card. 6. Address the left side to the reciepient just as you would a regular post card. 7. The best part - stamp it for only 26 cents & mail. You'll save 16 cents per card on just the postage!
Each year I end up mailing out about 50 Christmas post cards. With today's postage prices that a savings of about $8 on just the postage - not to mention FREE post cards ... tb

Great idea! I used to take old cards sent to us & let the kids cut them up to make a puzzle. I'd put them in an envelope & label...made great "quiet time" & "rainy day" things to play with...also would take them when we traveled by car....they loved them!
