I wanted to show ya'll what I've been making. This is called rag quiliting, for those of you who haven't seen it before. I love it, even the girl who can't sew very well (me) can do this. I sell these bags on ebay, it helps suppliment our income a little bit, My Hubby works so hard and I am excited that I can have fun sewing and make a small income also. This bag(the one at the top) is my latest one, I am kinda taking advantage of Carolina's good year I guess. I usually make pink John Deere bags, that seems to be what people love to carry these days. I'll try to post a photo of one of them at the bottom. Hope ya'll are having a great day. God Bless You All! Lana

My aunt makes lots of purses and bags, but I haven't tried it yet. This are really nice. I am wanting to make reusable shopping bags so I don't have to have so many plastic bags coming home after getting groceries but I just haven't done it yet. I giess I am a little nervous to try it but I won't learn until I try.

I kept putting off sewing up some reusable grocery bags for so long that I finally broke down and ordered two of the bag-ease from www.lehmans.com. I absolutely LOVE these bags. They have hooks that fit right over the sides of the cart. I fill them with my groceries, check out at the counter and re-fill them before carting out to the car. I also purchased an insulated bag for the cold items. The insulated bag is great for the hot Texas heat during summer. tb

Hey TB ~ I really like those. It looks like from the photo that it holds a bunch...would you say it is comparable to the large brown paper bags stores used to use or is it larger. It looks so roomy.
Also, do you have any issues with the store seeing you load things into a big bag while shopping (before you checkout)?
Is there a label or printing on the outside of the bag itself that would let others know it wasn't something you got at that store. (For instance, I had my umbrella in hand one time as I entered the store because it was raining out, and a Walmart employee acted as if I was trying to steal it as I hadn't "paid" for it. It was mine to begin with and was still damp from the rain so that should have been an indicator that it wasn't from inside the store.)
--------------------------------------
After looking at them again, I went ahead and ordered one set of the grocery bags and 2 of the insulated bags. I figured if I needed more than 2 bags and didn't have a lot of cold items during my shopping trip I could use one of the insulated totes for the room.
Thank you so much the tip on this. I am excited to get them.

Yes, the outside of the bags have the name, bag-ease, printed on them. Also, the bags hold about twice as much as a traditional brown paper bag. So far, I've never had a problem with the anyone saying anything about me using them during my shopping. However, within only a couple months of using them, my local grocer started selling something similar with their store logo on it.
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine ... tb

I am so excited to get them. I have seen at HEB the insulated bags but they are like thin to me and would hold maybe 2 gallons of ice cream but not much else. So this style is new to me and I really like the idea of having the handles that attach to the cart to help it stay open while filling it up. Again, thank you so much for the tip.
