Just had a chat with the preacher's wife last night who informed me that her daughter (a junior in public school) wants to be HSed. The daughter is very serious and mature about the idea and knows that if she goes back to the public school it will be like going back into a "den of thieves". (She just spent a month on a foreign mission trip.) I would like to help but am not sure what is involved with HSing teen as my own children are not that age yet. Can anyone give me some advice to pass on? There is a local HS network in our area but I personally pass on the matter as I felt it wasn't the direction we were to go. Mother is also concerned about college entrance and having a diploma for the high school years which I can understand. Cost is another issue with them as they are only paid a stipend from the church and there is not a lot of "slush" funds. Any Help Please!
God Bless.

Have her try this web site. they have resonable prices. But I do understand the cost of trying to homeschool on a Pastor's wages. Here is the link www.sycamoretree.com/

Sister Michelle,
I've would have her check out Old Fashion Education. It goes through 12th grade. I would also check to see which college she wants to attend and write them to see what they require. A lot of colleges are very welcoming to homeschoolers. Is there a local college near by her? We have had several of our high schooler be able to take classes at the local university. In fact one of them will graduate from high school and also college with AS in general studies at the same time.
