Okay this is not a christian book but it is one that has been a blessing to our family The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton. I love the story and the children all talk of how they do not want to move fromt he country to the city. I think it teaches a great lesson.

I read to my son... but I can't wait until he is old enough to understand what I am reading. I know that reading in early childhood is important. His attention span is short... so I keep our reading short and simple.

We just found a new favorite. It is called Frankie's Orange. It is a wonderful story. It is about a giving family. You should check it out from your library. I have put this on our list of books to buy. For little one's Rod and Staff has great books. I really liked the animal stories they have and the little one's love to hear the stories.

Thanks! I am going to the library tomorrow. I will have to see if they have it. I have heard of Rod and Staff. Joshua isn't still for very long... so I don't get to read much at a time. He is constantly on the move. lol.

Two of my favorite books about teaching purity for girls and a pure heart for boys are written by Jennie Bishop.
"The Princess and the Kiss" & "The Squire and the Scroll"
I teach a jr. high girls bible study class at our church. I like "The Princess and the Kiss" so much that after teaching a unit on purity, I gave them all a copy of this book as a keep-sake and reminder to guard their purity.

Our library only has Mike Mulligan and his steam shovel. And Frankie's Orange was the same, other books by the same author but not that one.
