I just ordered 25 chickens today. they are called Isa reds and are supposed to lay all year round. Any good advice on taking care of them would be appreciated. It has been awhile since I took care of chickens. Okay years, so I could use a refresher.

Dear Sisters, It is so neat how the Lord provides. When the contractor tore off the back of the church we asked to keep all of the material that we could. I know have most everything I need for my chicken coop. I can not wait to get started on it. I have a bit befor the chicks get here. I am waiting for Spring.

Where are you purchasing your chicks from? I want to raise some for meat. I have looked at Murray McMurray, they seem a little pricey to me compared to the price I generally pay for a chicken. There is comfort though in the fact that they will be fed a natural diet.

I was able to place an order through an amish family that is close by. I payed 1.25 per pullet. They are debeaked. Mcmurray is pricey. Someone suggested looking into your local feed store. I guess you are sometimes able to order your chickens from them. Meat Chickens should be less money than the pullets. I wanted to do meat chickens also but am not sure if we have enough space.
