I live in rural South Carolina and today I look outside my back window and there is a stray horse Keep in mind I really do not have any neighbors and the ones I do have don't have horses. To say the least I was very surprised at my discovery - I have taken in stray animals before but never a horse. Do you put up signs like a stray dog or cat? LOL Just wanted to share my interesting story. Needless to say my kids want to keep it!!! Help!

Hey Countrymomof4!I was just curious about what happened to the horse? I was talking to aman who used to be the head of the quarter horse asociation in MO and he said he thought that in several years there would be stray horses(like stray dogs) roaming around. He believed this due to the fact that there are new regs about not being able to kill horses for food, etc. A vet has to do it or it's illegal. I found out you're not even supposed to put your own dying dog down. I was wondering if you had a"dumped "horse on your hands.

Hey thanks for checking on the horse I realized I posted it in the wrong place-It seems I put it in the poulty instead-of the animals LOL My husband started checking the couple farms that are in my area-but these farms are miles away so I am not sure if the horse just got like you said dumped or just wandered off. No one said it was there horse so One of the local farms did end up taking this poor horse-due to my family not being set up to care for him. He seems to be doing fine at the farm and my kids were even invited to come and visit the horse. Which was really nice of them. So a happy ending for all>
