Do you know what's wrong with her? What are her symptoms? tb She kidded 2 months early and we lost the babies. It started with her being week and trembly, she can not get up any more, she is not chewing a cud as she should.

Does it have a fever? Is it producing milk? If not, is there any redness, swelling or fever around the udders? How long ago did it kid? Has there ever been a malodorous discharge from the birthing canal? Is it taking water? tb

The four common diseases among goats include, coccidia(an intestinal bacteria/contagious to other goats), ketosis (common in over weight pregnant does), CAE (an arthritic type disease/contagious to other goats) and mastitis (bacterial infection of the udders/contagious to other goats). www.goats4h.com has a link "goat diseases" that gives symptoms for each ailment. All these aliments require veterinary care and will cause death if left untreated. www.goats4h.com also has a health link defining the body temp., pulse rate and respiration for healthy goats. I hope this information will help you guys determine the course of action best suited for your family ... tb

Thanks for all the info. It most likely was Ketosis. The vet was coming this afternoon to check on her but she passed away.

Yes the plan was to use her for our milk. We have two that are lactose intolerant.
Thank you for the prayers
