Last Tues. evening my mom who is wheelchair bound & lives in a nursing home had another massive stroke..this one took her speech & simplified her thinking as well as her ability to swallow...the strokes have gone on for five yrs. now but this stroke did much more damage than before...The doctor released her from the hospital last Friday & gave her a week to live...she seems happier to be "home" & they have her on hospice. she's at peace but seems to be doing a little better everyday...but hasn't eaten since her stroke last week...she made it very clear to "let her go" as she's 87 & had a full life...I promised to carry out her wishes so it's just a matter of time...they're keeping her comfortable w/gel meds...just need prayer for a quick & peaceful homegoing...! My sister who has been disconnected from the family for several yrs. told me about five yrs. ago not to ever contact her until "her" mother dies...it's "our mother"....I know mom has some issues w/her but don't "feel" it's time to call her...she's always caused trouble when she visits & mom has a "no visit" note on her records concerning her...just need wisdom to know what to do....thanks in advance for your prayers....

Jalynn,
This is a hard position to be in and I certainly don't envy you. I will keep you and your Mother in prayers for GOD'S hand and timing to be upon everything that happens. I am here if you ever need anything; please know that.

Thanks...I was sitting w/her last Sat. nite & she started the dying process but fought it off & has her color back & slowly trying to move more...I talked to the neurologist & he said she could make a partial recovery so going that route...I've asked for an MRI to show where the stroke damage is & an IV to keep her hydrated....ya just never know....! How's you're mom's clean up going...I know it's a slow process....keep us posted...!
