Hi everyone,
This is my first thread but wanted to get a prayer request out for a special young lady and Sister-in-Christ. Her name is Haley, she is 15 years old. She has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer...there is more to the name of it but can't think of it just now. Anyway, she's never smoked a day in her life nor has any of her family so it's a mystery to everyone on how she could have this rare disease. She was diagnosed in November after they found a brain tumor. When they removed the tumor and did a biopsy that showed it was cancerous. After more searching, they found cancer all over her little body. She's had to under go radiation, chemo and a gamma knife radiation on another tumor found in her brain. This little lady has stayed strong and says that she knows God is in control and she's just been a little beacon of light throughout this whole ordeal. Then to top off the family problems, the house caught on fire during the night and was totaled. Luckily, everyone made it out with just the night clothes they were wearing. This was just a few days before Christmas. This family has had much heart-ache and pain during the past few months...with more chemo, tests, etc to come. The lung cancer is non-operative. They've contacted St. Jude's hospital and another childrens hospital in Texas and neither place can help her. The Cancer Treatments of America places don't treat children. The doctors in St. Louis are doing all they can. The big thing about this is the calmness and faithfullness of this young teenage girl. She has been so upbeat and is always singing songs to praise God. She says she knows she may die but she knows God is in control and knows what He is doing. She tells everyone that she'd never get through this without God. Of course, the parents are trying to stay strong and Haley's attitude has helped tremendously but they feel so helpless and scared for their little girl. This is an awesome little girl and family. God indeed knew what He was doing but this little lady and her family need all the prayers they can get. Sorry this is so long but this is such an amazing story of God's love and it's certainly made me rethink alot of things...like my problems are nothing compared to this family. Please remember them in your prayers, I know they will all appreciate it.
