DH likes crispy waffles on the outside and fluffy (not chewy) waffles on the inside. Does anyone have a recipe that fits the bill?
I would like one from scratch since I don't purchase mixes.

We love the Betty Crocker Cookbook recipe. I heat my waffle iron to medium hot BEFORE pouring batter onto it. I cook it until the waffle iron stops steaming resulting in crispy on the outside, soft on the inside waffles. Serve them immediately. I then allow the iron to heat back up before pouring another waffle onto it.
If I have left over waffles, I simply freeze them in freezer bags and reheat them in the toaster oven (the microwave makes them soggy).
