There needs to be a Christian sewing magazine that has nothing but modest clothing to sew. It needs to include patterns for all sewing levels and it needs to have step by step instructions with illustrations. Doesn't that sound lovely?

Something like that would be so nice!! I know a young stay at home daughter who does sewing. I've used her myself and she does WONDERFUL work. I think she's reasonably priced. You can view her on-line catalog at www.asliliessewing.com/Clothing_Gallery.htmtb

I have been a follower of her blog for sometime now. I just adore her writings. I have never ordered clothing from her but wondered about it. It does have a price listed next to each item but says purchaser pays for materials as well. So to clarify it for me, how much does an item actually cost (on estimate) from what you have ordered in the past? Thanks for the info.

The fees listed on Sarah's site are for her sewing services. The total cost is really dependent upon the cost of selected fabric and notions, which the client purchases and mails to her.
I've had her sew three blouses for me. Her service charge has always been consistant. The cost variance came through my personal fabric and notions choices, which I personally selected, bought and mailed to her. For instance, the fabric for my first blouse was on clearance for only $2 per yard (my pattern and size required 2 1/2 yds.). Then my fabric choice for my 2nd blouse was $8.99 per yard (again, I required 2 1/2 yards).
After selecting the pattern and discussing the modifications I desired, I e-mailed her my specific measurements. She then replied with the the amount of needed fabric and notions. The shipping costs for the fabric and notions were less than $3 dollars.
Within 3 weeks Sarah notified me that my clothing was completed, I mailed her a check for the labor and she shipped my clothing items and leftover notions to me. Again, the shipping costs were reasonable.
She's sewed 3 blouses for me and a dress, pinafore, bonnet and bloomers for my daughter. I am VERY pleased with her workmanship. Everything fit us perfectly. If, in the future, I am again in need of assistance with sewing, I will most certainly contact Sarah.

Thank for the info. I really like what I see on her site...so I may just have to think about ordering something.
