Hi Sisters, Have been working on getting our food budget down to a dollar a day per person, for 3 meals. Loving this challenge!! We use meat sparingly anyway, also eat a lot of beans, whole grains, simple list of vegetables and fruits.
The first three menus:
Breakfast: banana oatmeal cooked cracked wheat / apple slices brown rice n' raisins
Lunch: ramen with broccoli and carrots leftovers chili / corn muffins / celery sticks
Dinner: tunacakes, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots bean burritos / lime cilantro rice one pot spaghetti / green beans
We are making all of our breads, tortillas, etc. Buying in bulk and case lot sales. Using up every bit of food so none is wasted. Also canning/gardening. And praying for a lot of guidance. This is fun!!

I was re reading some posts and thought this one is a great challenge to try I am going to make your recipes I have alot of folks at home though I would love to bring my meal budget to a dollar a person
