Ok...we were discussing sin and our sin natures and the fact that God doesn't like sin and cannot be a part of it. Then, the youngers thought tostump Momma... If God hates sin and cannot be with it, where do we fit into the Kingdom of Heaven? We are all sinners, full of sin, falling short of the perfection of Christ here on earth in this life. But, if we fall short and cannot be without sin totally, how do we get to God? Yes, we have Jesus...and theyunderstand that He has taken our sins unto Himself that we may go before God when called Home.... But somewhere along the lines, I missed explaining something I guess, because I had 2 youngers in tears today over the fact that no matter how hard they try to do right and be good, they don't always, and if God hates sin, He must wonder about their worthiness for Heaven.
I tried explaining that we will always have sin in our lives, it's simply our nature now, but we can choose to do right, to do good in His Eyes and that we have the assurance that Jesus will always be there for us to confess those sins and repent of them and no matter how many times we might fall, He will pick us up and help to brush us off, so to speak. But they still were upset at being full of sin.
Help!! I need to find a better way to explain this! Deanna

One way I explain it is that it is kind of like rose colored glasses. If you look through red lenses, everything red looks white. God the Father looks through the Blood of Jesus and though our "Sins be as scarlet" He sees us as white as snow. So, when He sees us He sees Christ, and Christ is perfect. If you can find them, get a pair of 3-d glasses, and have them look through the red side at something red.
Hope this helps. God bless!

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
