This is referring to the virtuous woman. I think it means that when we make a purchase for our family that we should think about before we buy it. Will it benefit my family? And then make the decision to buy it. The second part... I think it means that we should do all that we can for our family without going in debt or borrowing. Make things from our own hands.. plant a vineyard. Am I way off on this???

Yes that considereth sure is a good thing for us ladies to do. We need to stop impluse purchases and work on making our purchases a thought over process. I really believe that the fruit of her hands here is her children. Look at this verse. Pro 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. The fruit that she is working on is her children. They are what can praise her in the gates. I think she and the children worked to help the family out. JMHO

It is talking about being frugal and not just spending money impulsively. My husband controls the finances and he tells me how much money I have for things and I have to work within that and it's good. I learn to save money. I learn to find the best bargain.

Another thought on this portion of scripture is that the field to which it refers could represent the field of our children's heart. We need to tend and nurture that field so that our planting there will reap a good and plentiful harvest in years to come. Just as a vineyard requires many years of tender care before it yields forth its fruit, so our children require many years of tender care.

She definately considers her investments and personally takes responsability for her choices. We are all given the same amount of time in a day, lets say, but what do we do with it, how, and why... careful consideration and purposed planning.. would indeed be wise! I try to remember something I heard, something about choices forming habits, and habits forming character, and character a lifestyle, and lifestyle a destination..?? or something like that - anyways it all starting with simple choices and where it leads.
