Hello All,
May I ask you all to lift up a dear friend of mine? She is a young widow with young children who was left without financial management skills - her husband did it ALL. Many unscrupulous folks succeeded in taking advantage of her during the first year of her loss. My family has done what we could for the past two years, but she really needs some financial victories. I thank you all in advance for your prayers ... tb

Oh my...this is heartbreaking. How can anyone take advantage of someone in any situation!?! But I know it happens unfortunately.
Prayers and thanksgiving for financial victory are going out to the family. Please keep us posted on how they are doing as the Lord leads you to do so.

I mentioned that I would occasionally send updates regarding the above mentioned family. Well, good news is on the horizion for this lovely lady and her beautiful children. Mom was recently offered two well paying part-time jobs. One is only seasonal and will end around the 1st of Feb. However, the other is a permanent position. She has also been contacted by a local charity organization inquiring of her needs. She was told not to leave ANYTHING out, no matter how large or small. Well, she as a VERY serious transporation issue (her county & city does not offer public transportation in her area). I am praying, no, I am believing the Lord will use this organization to bless her with DEPENDABLE, economic transportation. I would be so very thankful if all you ladies could join me in prayer regarding the blessings this family is about to recieve. Thank you ... tb

Glory to GOD! HE is so faithful to HIS children. This is wonderful news. I am standing in faith with you for a resolution to her transportation needs.

Another update on the young widow and her children -
As of my last post we were so excited with anticipation for an abundant blessing from a local charity. We were believing the Lord would use this organization to bless this dear family with permanent transportation, she currently has use of a vehicle, but she doesn't know how long she'll be able to use it.
Unfortunately, today had a couple of set backs. The widow was informed that she and her children do not qualify for the ministry's of this organization. She was told the organization's guidelines specify that the family must have children between the ages of 2 & 10. Her children are 11 & 14.
Also, she was recently offered two part-time jobs, one seasonal (@12-18 hr. per wk.) and the other long-term (@18-24 hr. per wk.). Well, the long term position required two weeks of 10 hour training days. The hours of the training conflicted with the hours for the seasonal employment, thus the seasonal opportunity dissolved. She just finished her training for the long-term position and was told that she would only be working 12-16 hr. per week not the 18-24 hrs.
Needless to say, she is very discouraged. Please join me in lifting this lady and her children up before the Lord. This family really needs some significant victories.
Thank you you all so much for your continued prayers ... tb

Update #3.
As of my last post regarding prayer for this lovely widow and her children, she was facing some discouraging news regarding a reduction of hours at her newly acquired job and the disappointment of not qualifying for assistance through a local ministry.
However, I am excited to inform you all that God hears our cries and is answering these prayers. The coordinator for the first ministry that denied her help was so touched by this widow's story and her perseverance that she contacted another ministry (which we did not know existed) who has stepped forward.
She and her children have been blessed with $100 of groceries per month for 1 year, a new oven, dishwasher and washing machine to replace broken ones. They are also currently addressing some structural issues with the roof on her home. She's also received gift cards to Macy's, Wal-mart and some cash to assist with paying bills she's behind on. One of the members of this new organization is also a financial adviser who has agreed to mentor and hold her accountable on how to stay current with her bills, begin a savings account and hopefully one day begin investing in some retirement options. This financial adviser is also mentoring her on how to find various scholarships which will help her finish her education debt-free. The financial adviser has also agreed to inquire of some of her attorney clients on how to remedy the widow's transportation issue. (Basically, this widow bought what she thought would be dependable transportation to get to and from work after her husband died. She spent the very last of the insurance money on it, only to find out that the individual she bought it from did not have a clear title to the vehicle and had forged several documents for the sale. She's lost all her money, does not legally own the vehicle, can not find the person who sold it to her nor can she afford legal assistance to remedy the situation - the police told her this is a civil matter and she should hire an attorney).
Although, her employer informed her that everyone's hours would be cut-back at her job - her hours have actually increased while everyone else has had a reduction!
I am so excited about all the Lord is doing in this situation. Please continue to pray that her transpiration issue will be resolved quickly.
Thank you all for your continued prayer ... tb

Update #4.
Prayer is still needed for this widow. But there is good news.
Her scheduled hours at her job continue to be more than originally anticipated, thus providing extra income to pay down some debts - Praise the Lord. The financial planner contact is endorsed by Dave Ramsey and has been a HUGE help in teaching this lady about budgeting and establishing an emergency fund, etc.
Her transportation issue is still unresolved. The registration for this vehicle is close to expiring and without a clear title she can't renew the registration. To date, she hasn't been able to find the person who illegally sold her this vehicle. Please join me in lifting this situation up before Lord. Without transportation she will not have any way to get to her job. (she lives in an area that does not have any access to public transportation - a taxi ride to and from work is $58.00! - more than her day's salary).
Thank you all for your continued prayers. Our Lord is able and is working on solutions to these problems.

Update #5 - PRAISE REPORT!!
After many months of prayer - things are finally all ironed out for my young widow friend.
The Lord really came through on her transportation situation. As mentioned in previous posts, an unscrupulous person sold her a vehicle without a clear title. As we researched options for a solution to this dilemma, we found out the seller had involved a local car dealership AND a clerk at our county's registration office in this fraud. As awful as this sounds, it all worked in favor for my friend. When she went to the police and county judge with all this information, the officer she spoke with just happened to be the brother-in-law of the county clerk involved AND was personal friends with the owner of the auto dealership. The clerk and dealership, wanting desperately to avoid criminal charges, literally jumped through hoops, got a clear title to the vehicle and it is now legally registered in my friend's name. SHE GETS TO KEEP HER TRANSPORTATION!! PRAISE GOD!! This means she will continue to have transportation to her job (there isn't any public transportation available to or from our area & her job is too far away to walk or bike).
Meanwhile, she received an income tax refund that was large enough to catch her up on her past due bills. Also, during the past three months her employer has doubled her hours, therefore, she's been able to save up enough money to pay her upcoming property taxes due in October AND put a little aside for auto repairs, etc.
Thanks to all you ladies who lifted this lady and her children up to the Lord. We are dancing and singing praises unto Him for his deliverance and provision!

I had no idea about this situation, but I will keep her in my prayers. It's good to see that she is doing much better than when you first posted for her. God is so good!
