Same here. We're snowed in occasionally, but nothing like being snowbound for months. Last year our area received over 110" of snow that didn't begin melting until late March. We live VERY far out in the country and don't receive dependable county services such as snow plowing. Since our home sits more than 1/4 mile off the nearest plowed dirt road, when the snow gets too deep my husband will have to park his truck and hike to and from the house (when it gets too deep for that he will stay in town and come home on weekends). The children and I will be snowed in and not able to get a vehicle out. We hope to purchase something to plow the snow for next winter, but this winter we have to just make do without one. tb

I do not know how much fell last year but the average here is 150" But being in town they keep everything running. I'll be praying for you and the children.

Our average annual snowfall is only about 90 inches. Not much. The dangerous part is that in our climate the winter is full of thaws in addition to the freezing parts, so the roads would actually be much better if it snowed and the snow stayed till spring! Ice and slush and freezing rain... no, thanks! tb, I think you need one of our stereotypical Canadian dogsleds!

Today was Daniel's birthday, so we had an ice cream cake, chicken fries, and those funny smiley face-shaped french fries.

My husband prefers pie to birthday cake, too. Lemon meringue.

I keep a calendar at my computer desk & write down what we have which helps us from getting into a rut! I wish my family would consider soup & sandwiches a meal but no luck ! I found a casserole book at Walmart from Taste of Home & it's all Casseroles...so..I've been using it alot which helps on time. So far so good. Tonight is a friend's birthday so she's having it at a Pizza place w/a game room...only bad thing is it's an hour drive each way....I really don't want to go but feel I need to as she's my "true blue" friend & her son & my DD2 are best friends....ugh!
