I am sorry I didn't write back sooner! I run my dishwasher maybe once every day or every other day, the rest of the time I handwash (money saving, that's all). I could do on load every day, otherwise. One batch makes 36 loads, so it usually takes me a bit to use-up, unless I have pots and pans I put in, then I add an extra Tablesthingy into the open container. I would say it takes me about a month and a half to two months. I averaged that one batch of this stuff costs about 75 cents to make. So, for you, it would cost about $1.25 per month, or just a little under. Actually, since my estimate went over quite a bit for my own personal budgeting, you'd probably spend less. I can figure it out again for you, if you wish, but it may take me a couple of days to get back to you. I didn't keep the slip of paper I was working on. (der) LOL, certainly not too personal for me. I am willing to share my experiences in most areas of life - dishwashing is not a bother for me at all.

I found a wonderful recipe at The New Homemaker. The recipe you gave above, it did the exact same thing for me too. Here's the one I use: Dishwasher Powdered Soap 1 cup borax 1 cup baking soda 1/4 cup salt 1/4 cup citric acid or two packets of unsweetened Lemonade-Flavored Kool-Aid, 30 drops citrus essential oil--lemon, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, or a mixture Put all of it into a clean, airtight container, shake it up. To use, put a tablesthingy or so into each cup of your dishwasher. Can also use on counters and in sink as you would Bon Ami. www.thenewhomemaker.com/dishwasherpowderI use kool-aid and I found that the essential oil is necessary - it really helps with the spots! And I use vinegar in my rinse cycle, too. These together work great!

I sent this site to several people a year or so ago. I hope that you all can enjoy it too, it's a little silly, but kinda cute and fun. Shake it up and listen, or just sit and watch them do their own thing - hilarity ensues either way. holiday-snow-globe.freeonlinegames.com/

I am not sute how many ladies here cover their heads, but I have a question. I just started several months ago, and until yesterday, I was only wearing bandanas. I made myself one of these: headcoverings.com/cameowhite1.jpgI tried wearing it, and even secured it with bobby-pins, but nothing would keep it from slipping. I do have fine hair, so maybe that is the issue. Do any of you have any helpful ideas on how to keep it in place? Thank you in advance.

Pursuer~ I do want to ask though...how do you use it? Just shake it up before spraying the clothing item and then shake the item out a bit (lightly) and hang to let the wrinkle spray to dry? That's what I did with the other one so I assume its the same with the homemade one. Thanks for the help. Yes, just as you mentioned.

I am almost always a cold water, but of late, been using warm water. I love this site so much!! I am going to be making these and selling them at Farmer's Market next season. I use all of these recipes with the exception of the fabric softener (can't sell what I really use - white vinegar - seems so wrong! LOL). The fabric softener recipe here works okay, however! Just more expensive than white vinegar. Homemade Laundry Soap 1/3 bar Fels Naptha or 4.5 oz. Ivory soap, grated ½ cup washing soda ½ cup borax powder 30 drops essential oil(s) of your choice, optional ~You will also need a small bucket, about 2 gallon size~ Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat. Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Now add 1 gallon plus 6 cups of water and stir. Add essential oil, if desired. Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel. Gently shake before each use. You use ½ cup per load. Homemade Fabric Softener 1 cup glycerin 1 gallon water 20 drops essential oil(s) of your choice, optional Mix together in a large bottle. Add 1/2 cup to washing machine rinse cycle. Clothing Dewrinkler 1 Tablesthingy fabric softener 2 cups water Add ingredients to a spray bottle. Shake well to mix before each use. Homemade Spray 'n' Wash 2 parts water 1 part ammonia 1 part Dawn dishwashing liquid Add in spray bottle, shake lightly. Use as you would spray 'n' wash. *Has gotten out stuck-in pit-stains and even blood!*
